Notes:

The simplified Library of Congress transliteration of Евгений Козлов is Evgenii Kozlov, but the artist himself uses Evgenij Kozlov, which has come to be the form quoted in publications.
Since 2005, Kozlov has been signing his works "E-E”, which he subsequently added to his name, as follows: “(E-E) Evgenij Kozlov” or simply “E‑E Kozlov”.

Новый Петергоф / New Peterhof, located 18 miles from the center of Saint Petersburg, is a district of the municipality of Peterhof, best known for Peterhof Grand Palace. Kozlov lived in New Peterhof between 1971 and 1989. more >>. In those years – more precisely, between 1944 and 1997 – the town employed the Russian translation of Peterhof: Petrodvorets (Петродворец). Nevertheless, Новый Петергоф / New Peterhof was retained as the name of one of the local train stations, namely Nikolai Benois’ famous neo-Gothic landmark dating to the mid-19th century, whose arcades were inspired by Orvieto Cathedral, in Italy.

Between 1967 and 1980, Leningrad’s Kirov Cultural House on Vasilev Island was home to a unique cinema operated by Gosfilmfond, called the “Cinematography”. The state film archive showed foreign films from its own archive, such as “Charley's Aunt”, “Some Like It Hot”, films and retrospectives of Kurosawa, Fellini, Antonini and Bergman, and also animated films from Walt Disney. (Moscow’s “Illusion” cinema served the same purpose.) Tickets for screenings were extremely difficult to come by.

In his diary, Kozlov made a note of the telephone number of the “Cinematography” (using two different extensions).

2* Colorful gypsy dress, with little thin legs protruding. Face, chest, and waist cropped by the upper edge of the picture. Underneath: an almost formless bulk resembling the fur of a polar bear: less than full height, seemingly sticking to the body. Full face.

Также схематично, но темнее в тоне пейзаж с облаками, луной и церковью. Похоже на светлую узорную  решетку,  сквозь которую видно другое время, другой пейзаж.

Also schematic, but with a darker tone and a landscape containing clouds, the moon, and a church. Similar in appearance to a bright, ornamented grille, through which a different time and landscape are visible.

The diameter of the tubes is somewhat thicker than in a brain of the type created by nature. They are correspondingly fewer in number. There are no branches. The diameter of the tubes might also be smaller, i.e., of normal or average diameter.

A ray of light permeates the entire mass. In places, the ray is material in nature. It has multicolored rings. A variety of rough and smooth surfaces – like the material which the brain is made of; in some places, it has the appearance of light, in others, emptiness. Where the ray of light penetrates the brain, an internal influence interaction is visible.

God is the result of th human thinking. It is impossible to understand anything. Everything arose from nothing. Out of nothing, everything arose. Everything is divided into two extremes – Yes or No. The middle ground between Yes and No is taken up by exceptions. While exceptions do deserve consideration, in the ideal world only the extremes deserve consideration, and so here we will mull

The concept of the ideal world exists only within man, as the word ‘ideal’ encapsulates the meaning which we invest in what we ourselves have dreamt up; absent the word, we would have no way of speaking about ‘the ideal world’. In the sense in which it is normally understood, the word came into being after man had come into being had appeared. Before the word,

All that is non-material is a product of that which is material. In the same way that thought is the product of brain matter.

If someone asks me: “What, then, is eternity – nothing...?”, I will reply that it is just a concept or an idea, or thoughts, or poetic symbols or imagery arising from human imagination,

Человек не нуждается в доказательстве того, что есть такое мысль. Не следует доказывать и существование вечности, идеала бога, сатаны….

Time is man’s accepted unit of measurement for denoting how long material exists. Time is not material, but the product of material.

Man does not need proof of such a notion. Neither is there any need to prove the existence of eternity or of the institution of God or Satan…

It has become conventional for ideas and thoughts – their very nature and meaning – to be replaced with a single word: e.g., God or Satan. This is not right. Ideas are

The phenomenon of that which is not material being generated by that which is material / thought – brain / has not yet been studied by man.

It is an indisputable fact that the settling of this question will also settle questions concerning the existence of eternity, Nothingness, and Everything, i.e., concerning everything that is not material – which is the subject of such intense disputes between the m. perspective and the non-m. perspective.
